(This session is deleted from the record. Jane began speaking a little ahead of time, while sitting on the couch once more. Her eyes opened often, her pace was fast.)

Good evening.

(Good evening, Seth.)

Now, my best to you in a difficult time.

Ruburt is learning much to his advantage in the present circumstances regarding your own parents. The affair allows him to make comparisons, to compare and evaluate present events with past ones. To discharge, and then examine, emotional responses that have lain latent.

In a new crisis situation, in facing a present crisis squarely and dealing with it in adult terms, he may indeed free himself largely; for the present situation through association brings up highly charged emotional energies that have been stopped up and causing difficulty.

It is highly necessary then that his present course be maintained, expressing his emotions honestly to himself and to you; and examining them, if he prefers, afterward, then taking with you whatever steps are necessary in your family situation.

This is the adult's chance to understand and emotionally exorcise arental ghosts from the child's past. They will be viewed in the light of the present, brought up because of your family's dilemma, to the light of day.

Ruburt should not brush aside any emotional connections then, but understand what is happening. For this process is releasing him already, and operates like a catharsis. His development allows this to happen.

The situation, you see, somewhat earlier, could have had far different connotations, and he could not have handled them. This is very important, the above.

I will try this evening to help you on both of these levels. On Ruburt's art he is finding himself able to handle a parental situation with you, along with you, even though the crisis evokes long repressed, highly charged emotions from his own past.

Even the welfare considerations enter in here. He sat on the family orch Sunday to escape the house as he did as a child in Saratoga. In his subconscious your father and mother become two aspects both representing his own mother. The father, nearly crippled, to be cared for, and therefore frightening. Yet he spontaneously kissed the father, and tried to give him strength.

The father, your father, represents to him , Ruburt, the helpless portions of his own mother, directed so to speak where he can see them. Your mother represents to him the destructive, unreasoning energies of his own mother, and in the pull and conflict between your mother and father, he sees the tortured connections of his mother's soul.

He can run without being compelled to run away. (Slowly.) He has a free choice, now. In facing these problems, he is releasing himself through highly traumatic inner psychological dramas. He is not using the situation in a derogatory sense. He is able however, now, to face realities, allow himself motion, and not fear that motion will automatically mean cowardly flight.

In facing the situation in your parent's house, he faces and conquers the situation once existing in his mother's house. There is some resistance, but he now recognizes it as such, and is able to overcome it. The situation does not gobble him up. He was always afraid that it would.

The parents are not all powerful. They now need support. They are eople, they are not magic monsters out to devour him.

Now, if you will forgive me, he sees your mother's stupidity in important matters. If she is destructive, he sees that this destruction is the other face of love never truly given. It is not aimed, it is a rage, enveloping like a storm of nature, enveloping even the personality from whom it emits, so that the mother becomes a victim also.

Ruburt can see this then objectively. Your mother is not out to kill him ersonally. His mother was not out to kill him personally. He was simply there.

(Pause.) I am letting your hand rest a moment.

("Yes." Long pause, eyes closed.)

These realizations free him. The realizations themselves release him.

Now give us a moment.

They, your parents, are done with each other, your mother being more honest than your father in this respect. (Long pause.) Her rage, you must understand, is the other face of life, vitality and love, and she will not give up her demands. She will try to shove him out, and he will cower before her strength. He always resented her vitality.

Her heavily applied, overly feminine characteristics, were donned by her to hold him in the early years. She had more strength than he. She retended to be dominated by him, but both of them knew.

(Pause.) He would have preferred daughters. She gave him sons hoping to pacify him, but he always felt that the sons challenged his vitality and position.

He gave up years ago. Her energy made him keep up appearances. Her vitality fed him, but it could not rouse him. Now he in his helplessness pays her back, and she rages against him. The sons left early, but he refuses to leave. She feels betrayed by the sons who left, and the father who stayed.

She will not listen to reason, because reason would rob her of her rage, and all of her vitality is now in her rage. There are reasons in the reincarnational background. Some have been given (in early 1964) .

Your father fulfilled his main purpose in this existence, and was satisfied, sometime within five to seven years after his marriage. He wanted to leave then. The main portion of his personality, the integrating functions, the strong core, left, and rejoined the entity years ago. A fragment, the shell that you know, remained.

She could not let it go. She demanded that some portion of your father remain. They made a bargain, all without knowing. Her vitality would not ermit her to leave. She was tied too strongly to earth through physical connections. More than half of your father's personality has been vacant, and this portion has been with the entity. It has grown and matured. It stepped out.

(Jane's pace was now quite slow, with many long pauses, some up to a minute in length. Her eyes were often closed.)

There was no inner need nor purpose in its remaining. There were reasons why the two personalities, your mother and your father, met. These reasons on your father's part were consummated. He did not feel that he could die. (Pause.) He left what she wanted. (Long ause.) She fears the presence of her husband's other self, but does not know this consciously.

She feels cheated, and has, for he has gone. In a last life she died fairly early, and she would not face life, she did not want to hold on. This time her vitality, chosen by her, forces her to do so. She wants the man she once knew but her rage forces her, and has forced her, to stay alive, with the one part of the man that remained.

In each of her three sons she sees portions of the man she knew. (Long ause.) He will be reborn, and his abilities of inventiveness will play a large role in the 21st Century, where he shall be born in Egypt. (One minute pause.)

She is young in her dreams, and cannot see herself in the old woman. She is expressing a rage that she would not express in the past, and it will urify her and leave her free. Otherwise it would have blemished innumerable reincarnated selves, and prevented any of them from achieving fulfillment.

You may take your break or end the session as you prefer.

("We'll take the break.) "

(9:52. Jane said she had been far out, but was aware she had spoken for a long time. She resumed at a faster pace once more, half lying back on the couch, at 10:04.)

Now. Several things.

Your mother tried to change you into the image of the man she had known.

You were to take his place, and she enjoyed it when you supported the household. Every bill you paid, or small item you purchased, had erotic connotations, and on two levels: on your part subconsciously, because you felt her strong emotional pull, though it terrified you; and on her art because you took the place of the father.

You nearly fell into disaster, living in the house. You knew you would meet Ruburt, however, and she tried to prevent it, for she knew it also.

The shell of your father rejoiced. You recognized your predicament, and henceforth refused to take the main responsibility for your mother, which was the responsibility of a man for his wife.

This also has something to do with Ruburt's fears if he is not financially contributing to your establishment. Do you see?

("Yes.")

(Pause.) Your brother Dick was meant to be a female. He was to have been a little sister. Give us a moment. (Pause.)

There will be a separation of the mother and the father. The father's shell will feel pushed out initially, but then will find peace and contentment, for it is passive, and has been pushed to exhaustion. (My arents did end up separated)

Other elements of it will rejoin the main personality. It stayed as a counterbalancing influence in the family, for the sons' sake. What is left will enjoy the sunlight and green grass, and be peaceful.

(Pause.)

Give us time. The house eventually will pass into other hands. Perhaps an A.K. The mother will to some extent find release, staying I believe near Betts and Loren, or very strongly connected to them. The aggressive social outlook would be good for the mother. Betts and Loren must hel others, for they cannot find peace within themselves otherwise.

This is quite legitimate. They are not developed enough to have peace within themselves. Helping others turns their aggressions into beneficial action, a transformation of sorts.

Your mother needs action, physical vigorous action. Your kind of life would drive her mad. She could destroy your other brother. For a while she will stay at home. (Pause.) Your father's ghost or shell waits to be reunited with the other portions of itself. In the meantime it will roam through the old house, seeking what is lost, and finding recreated scenes that bring him peace.

The existing personality shows delusions, for what the ghost knows the hysical self does not perceive.

Ruburt is developing his abilities, and I helped him on that occasion.

He overintellectualizes when he works the table alone. Let him get his results, and do his critical work afterwards. His abilities are being released because energy is now being released.

The suggestions he has written down are also taking effect. Your intimate life and his biological periods will also improve now, but he must continue what he has been doing in connection with your parents. A ortion of him is quite deliberately using that situation---that is, as a catharsis, so the honest emotional attitude must be maintained.

He is slightly worried about the social-worker appointment. Let him acknowledge it freely, you see. Then any old fears become present, and are subject to solutions that the adult finds.

(Yes.)

His classes will continue well, and within six months they will be completely filled, which will substantially aid your regular income.

Good sales on the ESP book will materialize. Within a two-year period definite substantial gains, well above expenses, will be seen.

(This session was held on Monday, October 16. On October 17, Jane got a letter from her publisher, outlining details for the first full-page ad that he has placed in a national publication for the ESP book. F. Fell added that he expects to sell a lot of books.)

He will be freer now to continue and complete his dream book, without feeling coerced. That is he will be spontaneously inspired, I believe, to continue it.

The old panic is being dispelled through the present situation with your arents. At a lesser degree of development this would not be the case. Both your father and your mother subconsciously know your osition and Ruburt's. Subconsciously they both know that this good is coming from their own situation.

Once more: Ruburt begins to realize he can have full freedom of motion, without feeling that he will be forced to run away. He has a choice of motion now. He can stay and face a situation through, and have full freedom of motion. He will not use motion in a cowardly manner, as he feared. He can also use freedom of motion to help.

The table experiments will lead to more highly developed interests.

(Is there any point in using heavier tables?)

We will have to discuss that issue at another session. I intend to discuss it thoroughly. Ruburt's corner (Jane pointed to the west corner of the living room, where her working area lay) , is of hel sychically.

Tell Ruburt to answer our friend's letter concerning his wife, and we shall have some material shortly.

(How is she doing?)

There has been some marked improvement, but worry over the mental temperament, and increased irritability. This is natural however as I shall explain.
